0.1.0-beta.3
v0.1.0-beta.3Typed customization across every React family, five focused chart references, safer touch interactions and a clearer component status system.
This preview records the verified source state. All five packages are published on npm at 0.1.0-beta.3 with the latest and beta tags. Pimolu UI remains a beta release.
What matters in beta.3
- Customize every family with an optional typed
classNamesmap. All 129 React families are covered, including compound descendants and portalled surfaces, while existing class props keep their targets. - Choose the right chart from five focused references. BarChart, LineChart, AreaChart, DonutChart and Sparkline each have their own examples, API and previews;
/components/charthelps select the right one. - Interact safely on touch screens. Select, Cascader, TreeSelect, RangeSlider, Carousel, FileManager, Signature and shared floating panels now handle pans, taps, RTL and narrow viewports correctly.
- See what changed with source-backed component statuses, a 302-page documentation site and a standalone customization example for every component reference.
Published packages
- Five library packages share the 0.1.0-beta.3 version: design-tokens, themes, core, react and web-styles.
- All five are published on npm. The latest and beta dist-tags point to 0.1.0-beta.3.
- React ships as one ESM bundle with TypeScript declarations and the use client directive; core compiles to ESM.
- Install with pnpm add @pimolu/react@beta @pimolu/web-styles@beta. The tag v0.1.0-beta.3 marks the source state.
npm install @pimolu/react@beta @pimolu/web-styles@betaNamed parts without specificity fights
- The opt-in
@pimolu/web-styles/layered.cssentry places the shared CSS in apimolucascade layer. Application rules and Tailwind utilities can then override normal declarations without!important. - The existing unlayered
styles.cssentry remains compatible. Import one entry only and declare the complete layer order when using Tailwind v4. - Typed
classNamesmaps add classes without replacing structural, variant or state classes. Compound parts inherit through wrappers and portals, nested roots reset their family scope, and changing a map preserves focus and uncontrolled state. - Input restores its focus halo without discarding preset elevation. Dialog and Drawer content accept panel styles, and styled Select honors its control style.
- Every Playground page and every website reference now includes a standalone customization composition. The contract documents supported recipes and limits in
docs/CUSTOMIZATION.md.
Components and interactions
- Charts are split into focused BarChart, LineChart, AreaChart, DonutChart and Sparkline references. The chart overview groups them by purpose instead of presenting one oversized family page.
- Sidebar accepts
collapsedContentfor its header and footer, keeps brand and profile controls reachable in the rail and adds keyboard tooltips to icon-only items. AppShell and DashboardLayout retain a contextual rail beside content at 1012 px and collapse at 720 px. - PageHeader centers its actions below the content, while Calendar and TreeTable no longer widen the Playground document at phone widths.
- Select commits on a completed click or tap, ignores touch pans and focuses its trigger without scrolling. Cascader and TreeSelect distinguish mouse hover from touch contact, including branch-arrow panning.
- RangeSlider moves a bound only after a completed tap. Slider and RangeSlider fills follow the inherited direction, and Carousel keeps RTL scroll positions, indicators, controls and arrow keys synchronized.
- FileManager exposes an explicit Open action for one selected entry instead of relying on double-tap. Signature Clear and Undo finish valid touch taps after a stroke without firing twice.
- Shared floating placement clamps its initial width and position to the viewport before measurement, preventing overflow on narrow screens across floating consumers.
Website and tooling
- The reference now covers 133 components with at least four live examples, copyable source, generated APIs and a standalone customization example. The site builds 302 pages.
- Component statuses compare source and CSS against a tracked beta.3 baseline. New, updated and deprecated references stay explicit instead of becoming time-expiring guesses.
- The customization audit records the layered CSS contract, portal boundaries, focus, disabled states and the tested viewport matrix. It does not certify arbitrary application CSS.
- GitHub Actions verifies the library and runs the website build, documentation tests and Chromium, Firefox and WebKit suites.
Known limits
- This is a beta: component APIs and visual tokens may still change before 0.1.0 stable.
- The seven complex-component assistive-technology reviews remain open, and the current visual review status is recorded in
docs/ai/QUALITY_AUDIT.md. - Arbitrary CSS can still break layout, focus or contrast. Use the documented layer order and preserve accessibility states.
- Native, Angular and web registries remain unimplemented. The Playground bundle still exceeds the Vite 500 kB warning threshold.
- Browser tests and structural audits do not replace physical-device or screen-reader certification.
